Every Chapter Counts

Every Chapter Counts Group Study

This curriculum is designed to work alongside Hulu’s The 1619 Project documentary series, helping organizations turn selected themes into flexible learning and conversation. Each chapter is modular: use the pieces that fit your group, your time, and your goals.

The goal is not to cover everything in one session. It is to make visible how much is happening beneath the surface — and give participants a clear place to keep learning.

Modular by design

Use one activity, a few modules, or the full program. Each organization can shape the experience around its own audience and available time.

Built for conversation

Film, reading, role play, local voices, and discussion work together to help participants notice connections and ask better questions.

Keep learning

Every chapter points outward to additional resources. The session is a beginning, not a finish line.
