Accessibility

Accessibility is an essential part of making historical information usable, meaningful, and open to as many people as possible.
Every Chapter Counts is designed with the goal of supporting access across a range of devices, abilities, and assistive technologies. We aim to present content in clear language, readable layouts, and structures that support navigation by screen readers, keyboards, and other accessibility tools.

Efforts are made to use sufficient color contrast, logical heading structures, descriptive link text, and consistent page layouts. Images and visual materials are accompanied by contextual descriptions when appropriate, and interactive elements are designed to be operable without relying solely on visual cues.

Accessibility is an ongoing process rather than a fixed state. As new content, features, and formats are added, limitations may emerge. We recognize that not all barriers can be anticipated in advance, particularly across different technologies and user needs.

If you encounter accessibility issues while using this site, or have suggestions for improving access, we encourage you to get in touch. Feedback helps identify gaps and informs future improvements, and we are committed to addressing issues where possible within the scope of this project.
